Business Development Executive - US Government

Seattle, WA ( Full-Time)

We combine GPGPU sensor fusion technology with machine learning to provide computer assisted pilot control of robots and drones. This is an exciting opportunity to join an industry leader to expand the leading edge of robotic, sensor and machine intelligence technology.

Reporting directly to the VP of Business Development and Special Programs, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall business development activities for the US government.

 

Responsibilities

  • Robotic control evangelist.  Paint an exciting vision of how our control system will help end users increase efficiency and safety in their operations.
  • Make it real: Our software delivers unique capabilities that will deliver great value. Your job is to find the right fit between our software’s capabilities, market opportunity, and value to our customers.
  • Communicate.  Create and deliver compelling presentations to customers and internal teams describing plans and opportunities.
  • Define user requirements for robots, payloads, and upgrades and balance them against engineering risks and resources.
  • Create product road-maps with recommended features and enhancements.
  • Prioritize market-driven requirements to meet market needs, sales and growth objectives.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify and quantify market needs and evaluate competitor offerings.

 

Valuable Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Proven stakeholder management skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of business capture tools.
  • Understanding of FAR.

 

education & experience

  • Bachelor degree or master degree in engineering or related field.
  • Extensive knowledge and network with US government agencies: all branches of the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Energy and Department of Transportation
  • Experience introducing, marketing, launching and selling advanced technology products, 7+ years
  • Technical depth to understand and communicate the capabilities and limitations of state-of-the-art robots
  • Curiosity to learn new technologies & cultivate markets and applications that leverage them
  • Confidence to take risks, negotiate deals, manage customer expectations, and impose discipline on customer relationships

Reporting directly to the VP of Business Development and Special Programs, the successful candidate will be responsible for evolving products from prototype to production.  The successful candidate will help us develop, deliver, and maintain market-driven products that delight our customers, impress the public and drive sales and growth.

 

Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver compelling presentations to customers or internal teams describing plans and opportunities
  • Work directly with business development executives to define/refine user requirements for software and upgrades and balance them against engineering risks and resources
  • Manage the product road-map with recommended features and enhancements. 
  • Prioritize market driven requirements to meet market needs, ROI, Sales and growth objectives.
  • Conduct Market Analysis to identify and quantify market needs and evaluate competitor offerings
  • Develop user documentation
  • Manage product launches and marketing campaigns.

  • Build software platform and applications (mainly in C++)
  • Act in a leadership role in advanced engineering projects
  • Participate in agile development teams and actively engage in design reviews
  • Design and execute testing and validation of code from unit tests to integration level

 

Required skills

  • Strong robotics background
    • Forward/inverse kinematics, singularities, motion planning etc. 
    • Low-level robot communication
  • Strong C++ background
  • Familiarity with Linux and the Robotics Operating System (ROS)
